…dreams come true. Well they certainly did for me today. And some lucky girl on the Thames.
I had orientation today. I experienced jet lag. Dreadfully
boring day. Except for the fact that I’m
in London. My dream destination hasn’t
really felt like what I imagined, until yesterday. I was walking out of the Westminster tube
station and I looked ahead and saw the London Eye. Bring on the goofy grin. If that wasn’t
enough, we turned right and I practically had heart palpitations. Big Ben.
First tourist moment, me standing on the corner for a good three minutes to get
this photo.
After my heart rate returned to normal, we went to dinner at
a cute little Italian restaurant. That’s right, first meal in London, fish and
chips? Bangers and mash? Nope, gnocchi with marinara. It was delicious, as was the fact that I didn’t
have to leave a tip!
As we were walking back to the tube, there seemed to be some
Brits causing quite the ruckus. Being
curious children, we of course had to check into it. 4 guys standing on a ledge holding a giant
yellow banner. Which after the use of
some backwards reading skills we determined spelled out “Will you marry
me?” There were also some random people
holding glow sticks. Oh yeah, and 8 Americans peaking their heads out from
under the banner. Yeah, that was us, the
ones ooh-ing and aah-ing when she said yes.
On their private boat. It was adorable.
